Service Provider Solution
As communication, as one of the core business characteristics nowadays, evolves dramatically enough to challenge the IT infrastructures of any origanization, the Service Providers must cope with the changing needs of their customers, whether they are residential or business customers.
- Carrier Ethernet
- Multiplay
- Voice
- Network Security
- Managed Services
Carrier Ethernet
Since Ethernet is the foundation of the NGN networks arounf the globe, the “carriers” must streamline their services – IPv4, IPv6, MPLS, VPLS – as well as being able to accommodate new transport and delivery capacities. All these, with minimum effort – both CapEX and OpEX.
Thus, high-capacity, high-density, high-performance and full Ethernet services platforms are needed, capable of delivering any service, anywhere.
Multiplay
Voice and high-speed Internet – not enough anymore for multiplay portfolio. Music, games and the biggest market –video– are three new multiplay needs people have nowadays. Moreover, from few years ago, when the service providers controlled the content delivered, now the customers get in charge of the content delivered.
All these new multiplay characteristics translate into best-effort Intenet networks evolving into resilient infrastructures capable of accommodating different services for each user, in both terms of quality and quantity.
This implies a converged edge architecture which enables a dynamic allocation of bandwidth in order to support all this user-centric services infrastructure, capable of delivering high-quality, multi-source services.
Voice
Voice, a real-time application, affects the entire IP infrastructure, in matter of service reliability and security.
Intelligent traffic prioritization and resiliency ensure the delivery of the voice calls. In order to achieve this, the routing infrastructure must assure the voice services delivery under any traffic conditions – even under high utilization levels. This service infrastructure needs appropriate hardware – ASIC based functions, highly-resilient hardware and software architecture – automated hardware failover and graceful software restart -, in order to ensure high equipment availability. Their IP/MPLS features enable 50 ms resilient network configurations that automate virtual connection failover, without call interruption.
